In 2015 Sisters by Choice built a state-of-the-art mobile breast clinic to reach the under-served throughout the Metropolitan Atlanta area.

- This year, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer
- Thousands will not receive lifesaving screenings and treatment because they either lack access or resources to receive quality breast care.
- Georgia has elected not to expand its Medicaid coverage
- More than 280,000 Georgia adults have fallen into the “coverage gap”.
- More than half of them are women.
- Geographically, we have 159 counties in our state.
- 79 of those counties are without an OB/GYN
- 66 counties are without a general surgeon.
The Sisters by Choice Mobile Breast Clinic partners with health agencies and civic organizations providing breast cancer screening and breast cancer education.
Unlike most mobile mammography clinics, the SBC Mobile Breast Clinic provides full service care with a breast specialist or physician assistant on site. Those services include breast examinations, digital mammograms and remote radiology support, and comprehensive diagnostic testing, patient navigation, prevention education, and treatment referral.

Sisters By Choice has been in the forefront of addressing disparity surrounding breast cancer. Each year, we perform at least 1,000 free breast health services that include mammograms, breast exams, breast biopsies, and sonograms, to uninsured, underinsured, and homeless women and men.
The demand for these lifesaving services is great in this economic climate, and the demand continues to grow. This is a great challenge, and we depend on grants, corporate sponsorships, and public donations to be able to continue to provide these services to the public.
Every day we get closer to defeating breast cancer. But until we do, we need your support to save every life that is threatened by this heartless killer. Breast cancer is the leading cause of new cancers diagnosed among women and accounts for 22% of all cancer deaths, making it the second leading cause of death among women in Georgia.
Georgia ranks 10th in population among the fifty states, but 40th in physician supply per 100,000 people. In fact, latest figures tell us that 15% of Georgia’s population is medically underserved for primary care, and access to more specialized services is even worse.
